Abstract (EN)
A child and architecture are different concepts within life. This thesis involves the orientation of the idea of 'architecture from a child's perspective'. Oriented to the perceptions of a healthy child, it exposes the spatial clues of the expressions in his drawings. By this way, in the study proceeding with fundamental factors of 'a child and architecture' and it reaches an evaluation from seven implemented architectural design patterns which was inspired by children's drawings. According to the explained patterns, we can reach a conclusion when we evaluate the effects of children's drawings on architectural design. There are not only some patterns which aren't special to design and that are inspired by general expressions in children's drawings but also there are the ones which are applied by children's participation in the design after using the drawings made by children, who are the users, as a tool. Child's schematic expression of 'house', which is in pentagonal form consisting of a wall, a roof and floor lines, seems to be used frequently in architectural designs. The large structures are not solved as mono block, but they are positioned as masses in piece and only adjacent. All of the designs are dominated by simple architectural language; includes details based on simplicity. The inspired children's drawings also contain environmental elements and the drawings reflect imaginative space relations. The consideration of children's drawings in architectural design is beyond the formal concerns. Giving importance to the child in determining the roles he imagined to be involved in, at the place he uses, makes the design socially different. The spaces are handled with the perspective of the child who uses it, and it is aimed to construct the space more livable. Keywords: Child, Perception, Drawing, Space, Architectural Design
