Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to identify the descriptive statistics of the epidemilogical risk factors at patients who visits Dokuz Eylül University Medical School (DEUTF). The children with cardiac disease are compared with the heathy group and the data is analized with chi square test. Patients and Methods: This is a cross sectional case control study. The patient group is chosen from who visits DEUTF Pediatric Cardiolgy Outpatient Clinic in the determined time interval (01.12.2014 to 28.02.2015). In this time interval 626 patients visited DEUTF Pediatric Cardiolgy Outpatient Clinic. 393 of them had a cardiologic disease and 233 of them didn't have any cardiologic disease. This study involves the comparison of the patient groups. Results: There have been found to be significant dependency between the patients' gender (p: 0.007), cross cousin marriage (p = 0,000), maternal thyroid diseases (p: 0.008), gestational diabetes mellitus (p: 0,043) and maternal cigarette consumption (p: 0,023). Conclusion: In this study the maternal and familial risk factors are described. That will be instructive for widescale studies which includes the risk factors has role at the pathogenesis of cardiologic diseases. Key words: Congenital heart diseases, epidemiology, children
