Abstract (EN)
In this study it was aimed to investigate the mediator role of emotion dysregulation in the relationship between childhood traumas and dark triad personality traits. In addition, it was aimed to investigate each main variables according to some demographic variables. The sample of this study consisted of 405 participants (268 females, 137 males) who are older than 18. In this particular study, it was used Childhood Traumas Scale, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale, Short Dark Triad Scale and a Demographic Form that was prepared by the researcher. First of all, Process Macro mediation analysis and Pearson Correlation were used to test the relationship between childhood traumas, emotion dysregulation and dark triad and whether the main variables differ according to age and number of siblings. And then independent variables t-test were used to understand whether main variables differ according to other demographic variables. According to results, it was found that childhood traumas are significantly related with emotion dysregulation and all of the subscales of dark triad except Machiavellism and vulnerable narcissism. In addition, emotion dysregulation was found significantly related with all of the subscales of dark triad except grandiose narcissism. In the case of each dark traiad personality traits were seperately dependent varible, emotion dysregulation mediated the relationship between childhood traumas and dark triad personality traits except grandiose narcissism. In terms of demographic variables; childhood traumas differ significantly according to raltionship status and number of siblings. Emotion dysregulation on the other hand differs significantly according to gender, relationship status and employment status. Last of all, dark triad personality traits differ significantly according to gender and age.
