Abstract (EN)

Sustainability is a concept that has become more prominent and important as people's awareness has increased lately. Sustainability is when humanity meets its own needs while also taking into account the needs of future generations. Rather than being a concept, sustainability is an obligation that requires the proper use of resources in order for humanity to exist and maintain a quality life. Sustainability of provinces is gaining importance in preventing social, economic and environmental problems brought about by rapidly increasing urbanization and population density around the world. Sustainability aims to reduce environmental impact while improving the quality of life in cities. Multi-criteria decision-making techniques (MCDM) are widely used in the evaluation of different options within the framework of the preferred criteria in decision-making processes in various sectors and in determining the most appropriate option. In this research, the sustainability of 13 provinces in the Central Anatolia Region was examined by using MCDM Techniques. For sustainability assessment, 20 criteria were selected from sustainability criteria. Based on the data of sustainability criteria, the weights of the provinces were calculated using the PSI method from the MCDM techniques. The criterion with the highest weight was Employment Rate (K14). With the help of the weights obtained with the PSI method, the sustainability of the provinces was compared with the WISP, CODAS, CoCoSo, TOPSIS methods. After the sustainability calculations of the provinces, different results were obtained for each method. As a result, the Borda Ranking method was used to obtain a single result against the differences. According to the Borda Ranking result, the province with the highest sustainability was Yozgat (A13), while the provinces with the lowest were Ankara (A2) and Niğde (A11).
