Abstract (EN)
In this study, the critical submergence for two intakes with no partition wallssited in a uniform canal flow was investigated. The potential flow solution anddimensional analysis are utilized for the investigation of the criticalsubmergence. Experiments were conducted on two intakes sited in a uniformcanal flow. Experimental and theoretical results have indicated that in the caseof multiple (two) intakes, the critical submergence is larger than that in the caseof a single intake. Intakes interfere one another and cause blockage effectssimilar to that due to impervious solid boundaries. The agreement between the theoretical and experimental results is found to begood.
