Artistic applications on potter's wheel

In the first chapter, the historical process of pottery, its developments from the Neolithic period to the present, and the observed developments of the potter's wheel until today has been mentioned. In these condpart, it is explaine the history of pottery, which started as a craft and was included in art. In order to understand the subject, examples are given from potttery craft in Anatolia. The pottery of Menemen, Karacasu, Avanos, Kınık, Sorkun which stil produces traditional pottery in Anatolia is described. In this section, studio pottery which is a very important transition period is mentioned in the transition process of pottery from craft toartisticfield. Inthethirdpart, the artists examples from Turkey and World which worked and produced on a potter' s wheel and continue to produce are given. Also in this part, it is mentioned from the art view of Peter Voulkos whoe stablished a bridge between pottery as a craft and the artistic field. The subject has been tried to understand and reinforced with personal practices.
