Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to compare the element concentrations in water and fish samples taken from Mosul dam and Kralkızı-Dicle dam lakes. For digestion of fish samples, microwave (MW) oven was used. The measurements were carried out by using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). From the results obtained, it was found that all trace elements in water are lower than the maximum acceptable concentrations (MAC), for both from Iraq and Turkey. Related with studied elements in fish samples, Cd, Cr and Cu levels in all fish samples were found lower than the MACs (100, 1000 and 20 000 ppb, respectively) while Pb (427 ppb) in one sample and Ni (750 and 895 ppb) in two samples are higher than the MAC value (500 ppb Ni). Related with the validation, standard reference material (SPS-SW2 surface water-trace elements) were analyzed for the studied elements. The obtained results showed that the results are reliable. It was concluded that toxic trace elements should be determined periodically.
