Examination of PSYCO-motor development of childrenWHO are 6-36 months in the COVİD-19 stay at home period

Children, whose habits have changed in the past during the Covid 19 Pandemic process, are among the groups that are adversely affected by the course of the epidemic. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the pandemic on the psycho-motor development of children aged 6-36 months during the Covid 19 pandemic period and now aged 2-5 years. This study was cross-sectional and children aged 2-5 years were included in the study. The research was conducted on N=150 children who applied to the Yozgat Center No. 5 Family Health Center. Data were collected with the socio-demographic data form of children and families and Ankara Developmental Screening Inventory (AGTE). AGTE consists of four developmental areas of children: Language-Cognitive (D-D), Fine Motor (IM), Gross Motor (KM) and Social Skills-Self-Care (SB-LD), and a total development score is obtained. The data were evaluated in the SPSS25 program. Variables that were found to be important according to the AGTE scale from socio-demographic characteristics were analyzed with multinomial logistic regression (MLR). Of the children included in the study, 58% were girls, 41.3% were 37-48 months old (median age 48 months), 39.3% had a birth weight of 3000 – 3499 grams (mean 3105 gr), 52.7% It was found that ten of them walked between 12-14 months (median 12 months) and 58% of them had a better developmental level than their peers. The rate of the children included in the study whose general development, language-cognitive, fine motor, gross motor and social skills-self-care development levels were at a back-suspicious level was 25.4, 18.0, 58.7, 22.0 and 25.3%, respectively. the rate of those with an advanced level is 26,7,34.7, 11.3, 27.3 and 25.3% respectively. Children's general and other sub-dimension development levels are more positively affected by the decreasing age of the child. The fact that older children stay at home during the pandemic period has further affected their development. Again, the shortening of the pregnancies or the first pregnancy, the participation of the father in the care of the children affect the development of the children positively.
