Abstract (EN)

The somatic cell count (SCC), is the number of cells present in milk ?body? cells as distinguished from invading bacterial cells. It is generally accepted that herds with a cell count of 200.000 or less will have no significant production losses due to sub clinical infection. In this study, the relationship between somatic cell count and some linear type traits of first lactation Black and White Cow milking and managemental characteristics of intensive dairy farm at Çukurova region were studied. Test-day records of somatic cell count (SCC), milk yield and linearly type traits of 88 first lactation cows from 3 herds at Çukurova region were included in this study. There were no significant differences between the average SCC of dairy farms while the differences between the parity and months of year groups were determined statistically significant (P<0.01). Linear type traits of the farms also were not statistically differ between the farm (P>0.05). There were significant negative correlation between hind udder height and SCC.
