Sunflower production ecomics in Çukurova region

Dr. Aykut GÜL In this study, the farms were examined in Adana, which began to deal with sunflower production in recent years. The economical structure and the problems of sunflower production activities were demonstrated, and some recommendations for solutions were put forward in the light of the obtained findings. According to the survey findings, the cultivated field area of the investigated farms was 206.89 da, the number of the parcels was 4.94, and the parcel size was 41.84 da at average. The sunflower field area of the examined plants was 58.06 da at average, and they comprised 28.06% of the total cultivated land. 80.11% of the examined fields were real estate, and 17.23% of them were at lease while 2.66% of them were shared fields. 10.81% of them were irrigated lands whereas the rest 89.19% were dry. The labor wealth of the plants was 4.56 EIB, and employed labor force was 1.26 EEB. İn the examined sunflower fields, 0.50 hour/da man power and 0.71 hour/da machine power were used. As regards sunflower production, the average gross domestic production value was 80.4674.000 TL/da. Production costs were 77.668.000 TL/da and 57.53% of production costs were variable expenditures, 42.47% were fixed expenditures. It was determined that the net profit 2.796.000 TL, gross profit 35.771.000 TL/da and relative profit was 103.60%. Key Words: Sunflower cost, production expenditures, profitability n
