Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the effects of different planting methods and plant densities on yield and important agronomical traits of sesame in the second crops growing season in 2012. In the study conventional single row and twin row planting configurations arranged in 5,10,15,20 and 25 cm between plans and also Muganlı-57 sesame cultivar were used. According to the results it was found that seed yield was increased to some extent as plant density was decreased. Distances more than 15 cm between plants in conventional and twin row planting configurations led to an decrease in seed yield per hectare. Number of branches, capsules per plant, plant height, 1000 seed weight influenced significantly and positively seed yield. The highest seed yield per hectare was obtained from twin row method and 15 cm distance between plants. Plant height and protein content were increased as plant density was increased. However, in both planting configurations 1000 seed weight, number of branches, oil content an oil yield were increased as plant density in the unit area was decreased.
