Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine the most suitable sowing date and cultivar of pea (Pisum sativum ssp. sativum L.) in Çukurova conditions. Field trails were organized the split plot experiment design with four replications at the University of Çukurova of Agricultural Faculty, 2011/2012 growing season. In this research, the main plots were three sowing dates ( Late October, middle November and early December) and sub plots were four pea cultivars (Dual, Dragon, Jof, Lancet) . As a result of this study, grain yield obtained from the early sowing date was lower than other sowing dates. However, grain yields of cultivars varied depending on sowing dates. The highest grain yield was obtained from Jof cultivar in mid November with 206.6 kg/da. The lowest yield was obtained from Dual cultivar in late October with 82.7 kg/da. In late October, there were no a significant differences between grain yield of cultivars except for Dual. In mid - November, the highest yield was obtained from Jof cultivar. In early December, grain yield of Dragon and Jof were higher than other cultivars.
