Abstract (EN)
Purpose:Burnout and job satisfaction are concepts related to each other and evaluated together. Burnout and job dissatisfaction are high in health workers. The aim of there search is to determine thelevels of burnout and jobsatisfaction in nurses working at the Balcalı hospital in Çukurova University and to investigate there lated factors. Materials and Method: This descriptive Study was applied to 263 people betweenMarch and June of 2016. The data were collected using theMaslach Burnout Inventory and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale along with a 20-item questionnaire. Student t test, One-way ANOVA test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall-Wallis test, Pearson Correlation analyzes were used for data analysis. A value of p <0.05 was considered significant. Results:The averageage of the Study group was 33.20±9.09, 93.5% were women, 61.6% were married and 63.1% were graduated from Bachelor/ Master. 31.6% were working in more intensive units, 51.3% were working day and 48.7% were working seizure and shift.The mean emotional exhaustion score of the Study group was 18,6 ± 7,43, the average depression score was 5,13 ± 3,99, 23.20 ± 4.88; Internal Job Satisfaction score was 41,00 ± 7,60, External Job Satisfaction score was 24,66 ± 5,78, General Job Satisfaction score was 65,52 ± 12,61. There was a statistically significant relationship between the burnout subscales of the nurses working in Balcalı hospital and gender, age, marital status, income level, co-work type, child ownership status, occupation total working time. Also, there was a statistically significant relationship between job satisfaction sub-dimensions and total working time in the profession, unit studied, and working style. Conclusion: Burnout and job satisfaction levels of the nurses participating in the Study were found at moderate levels in general. There is a need to identify the factors that cause exhaustion and reduce job satisfaction and to formulate regulations for resolution.
