Abstract (EN)

Ecofeminism, which addresses the intersection between nature and women's issues, is classified within the domains of ecology and feminism. It integrates the ecological perspective of nature with the feminist perspective on women in a balanced manner. Ecofeminism articulates the profound connection between nature and women, while also highlighting that both are subjugated by patriarchal dominance. Ecofeminists assert that resolutions to environmental and women's challenges are fundamentally grounded in a feminist, or gendered, perspective. Consequently, solutions will initially be devised to eradicate the "male-centered" approach, followed by addressing the issue from a "human-centered" perspective. According to ecofeminist theory, capitalist patriarchy exhibits a similar disposition of wasteful exploitation and consumption of nature for its own advantage, while simultaneously exerting control over the feminine identity and labor. Consequently, the ecofeminism movement highlights that nature, and women are not mere exploited resources but engaged subjects and underscores the development of innovative solutions and treatments through distinctive links. The present study analyzed novels that embody the themes of ecofeminist philosophy during the Republican period. Initially, the study's first section, titled "Definition and History of the Concept of Ecofeminism," provided an overview of ecological theories, ecocriticism, and feminism, followed by an examination of the emergence of ecofeminism and its literary reflections throughout history. In the main section of the study, the analyzed works are examined within the framework of ecofeminism under the headings "Domination over Nature and Women" and "Association of Natural Elements with Female Identity." The "Conclusion" section of the study presented overarching conclusions derived from the materials and discoveries uncovered in novels concerning ecofeminism. Keywords: Turkish Novel, Ecofeminism, Ecology, Feminism, Nature, Woman.
