Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, it is aimed to determine the effective mutation dose in the Cyclamen plant. Three trials were set up using gamma beam sources to determine the effective mutation dose. With Cobalt-60 source, plants (0, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 35 and 45 Gy) and seeds (0, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 35, 45, 65, 85, 110 and 130 Gy) trial was established. In the Cesium-137 source, the seeds were irradiated (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 Gy). Regression analysis was performed by taking 30th and 60th day morphological data on control and irradiated plants and seeds at different radiation doses. It was aimed to determine the effects on morphological and physiological characteristics of M1 plants, to determine the most appropriate gamma ray effective mutation dose value that can be used in mutation breeding studies, and to develop a variety that can meet the expectations of the ornamental plant sector in terms of the morphological features of the plant. The effective mutagen dose could not be calculated because there was no difference between the doses in the Cobalt-60 (60Co) source, but the calculated value in the Cesium-137 (137Cs) beam source dose data is 301.9 Gy. For greater germination it was determined as 290 Gy dose. The germination rate, viability rate, plant height (mm), leaf width (mm) and number of leaves (number/plants) of control and seeds and tubers treated with different radiation doses were calculated. According to the results obtained, it was concluded that as a result of the mutation doses applied to the Cyclamen plant, there were promising genotypes in terms of a new variety and different flower structure.
