Abstract (EN)

Maples, in almost all forested regions of Turkey, to the forest borders the sea level, it can be grown in different soil and climatic conditions. Mountain maple in our country, in Thrace's Black Sea coast forest around 1,000 meters, while in Central Europe spreads up to 1800 meters. In this study, the effects of electromagnetic field applications on Acer pseudoplatanus L. seed were investigated. The seeds were exposed to different treatment period 20, 60 and 120 min and varied magnetic field intensities 200 and 400 mT, respectively. The control and experimental groups were germinated at equal conditions. Germination of seeds controlled daily. A weekly sprouting percentage has been determined. Sprouting pertentage; had a positive effect of 120 minute in 200 mT and 60 minute in 400 mT in non fold seeds. As well, total soluble proteins of seed, alpha amylase, photosynthetic pigment, glucose, fructose and starch amounts has been investigated. In the result, applying of of MT in different intensity and times on cold fold and non fold Acer pseudoplatanus L. seeds at +4 °C and 45 days, has effected the protein, enzymes, photosynthetic pigment, glucose and starch content of the seeds. MT effected the amount of protein in fold seeds negatively in 20 minute 400 mT; but had a positive effect on control group of non fold seeds. One month after applying MT value of orotein in fold seed in 60 minutes 200 mT, was increased in control groups (p<0,05). However with applying MT in process of 120 minutes 200 mT alpha amylase activity of fold seeds decreases, in non fold seeds in 60 minute 400 mT and 120 minutes 200 mT process alpha amylase activity has increased. Although alpha amlase activity shows an increase one month after applying MT in fold seeds control group in contrast to other processes, but in non fold seeds a decrease has been determined. According to the seedlings formed in the result of sprout of fold seeds the total amount of chlorophyll shows a decrease in contrast to the control groups only 60 minutes 400 mT and 60 minutes 200 mT, in non fold seeds an increase has been determined in amount of pigment, while investigating the percentage of starch in seeds according to the control in fold groups there was a decrease in 200 mT 60 minutes and 120 minutes. In non fold group with shell, according to the control the content of starch was determined decreased only in 20 minutes 200 mT process (p<0,05). In non fold non shell groups in the process 200 mT 20 minutes and 60 minutes a negative effect on starch content has been found.
