Abstract (EN)

The phenomenon of marriage is a union that people with different levels of society and education have realized in order to establish a family institution from past history to the present. The main factor in the formation of the family institution depends on meeting the needs of the individuals involved in the family members. In parallel with the population growth in today's world, it is observed that there is an increase in the size of support for the family economy. It becomes quite difficult to maintain the balance of consumption savings during marriage. It is difficult for people to behave rationally because both the budget and expenditure items are increasing. The purpose of this thesis study is to examine the consumption decisions of the individuals who make up the family institution from the point of view of behavioral economics. In addition, possible solutions to the problems arising in this process have been proposed within the scope of behavioral economics. As a result, it has been observed that there are very few studies conducted in this area. Keywords: Behavioral Economics, Family Economics, Rationality, Limited Rationality, Consumer Behavior, Nudging.
