An investigation in to Atabetü'l Hakâyık regarding values education

The aim of this study is to examine Atebetü'l Hakâyık, which is the second oldest work of Islamic Turkish Literature after Kutadgu Bilig, in terms of values education. As a result of the study, the root values in the 2018 Turkish Language and Literature curriculum and the focus on the sub-values related to these root values are determined. In addition, we aim to assess the contrubition of Atebetü'l Hakâyık to our culture. In this context, the study adopts a qualitative research approach and document analysis technique used to collect data. Descriptive analysis method is used to analyze the data obtained from the research. In Atebetü'l Hakâyık, 512 lines have been scanned and presence of 10 root values in the Turkish Language and Literature curriculum have been identified. In addition, a sub- value study of the root values in the program has been provided. The frequencies of the values found are embodied in the table. As a result of the study, it has been observed that the values of responsibility, self- control, love, benevolence and patriotism are processed less frequently. As a result of findings obtained, it was determined whether the couplets and quatrains examined could be a source of values education.
