Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to stress the importance and the position of design education at the valuable stone and jewellery industry. According to this purpose, the general working conditions of the companies, production, search and development, designer employment and the comments of the employers about design education and the opinions of the designers were tried to explained.This study was carried out together with the authorized persons (100) and the jewellery designers (100) who were worked at the valuable stone and jewellery production facilities located in Ankara, İstanbul, and Izmir.The descriptive method was used at this study. According to the inferior purposes of this study, the Likert type of questionnaire was applied to the authorized persons and jewellery designers and the receipt feedbacks were analysed with using the percentage frequence , T-test and arithmetical average.According to the results of the research;Company officials, in the original design and design education as well as designers and design do not give importance to this issue do not believe in the importance of education.Depending on the results of research on the companies need to design the importance of education, some proposals have been developed to provide direction.
