Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate in vitro genotoxic and antigenotoxic effect of Delphinidin Cloride which is main compound of colour pigment of various plants in human peripheral blood lymphocytes. In the study, 25, 50, 75 and 100 μM concentrations of Delphinidin Cloride were tested for 24 or 48 hours treatment periods. Furthermore a known clastogenic agent (MMC) were used to detect possible antigenotoxic potential in addition to test substance. Genotoxic and antigenotoxic effect of Delphinidin Cloride was determined with chromosome aberration (CA) and micronucleus tests and cytotoxic effect of Delphinidin Cloride was determined with mitotic index (MI) and nuclear division index (NDI). Also, total oxidant and antioxidant values were determined by spectrophotometric method. In our study, Delphinidin Cloride with alone did not affect CA and MN formation in human peripheral blood lymphocytes both all concentrations and treatment periods. On the other hand Delphinidin Chloride significantly decreased CA findings in 24 hours treatment caused by MMC. Test substance did not affect mitotic index (MI) and nuclear division index (NDI) both all concentrations and treatment periods. Delphinidin Chloride increased total oxidant capacity only the highest concentration for 24 and 48 hours treatment period. Total antioxidant capacity increased significantly both all concentrations and treatment periods except the lowest concentration. As a result, test substance significant changes in oxidative stress index especially for 24 hours period treatment.
