Abstract (EN)

Using the structural properties of iron orthoborate sample prepared using different precursors was comparatively investigated. The structural properties of the product was characterized by PXRD, FT-IR, UV-VIS-NIR, SEM, methods and thermal stabilities were analyzed by TGA/DTA technique and magnetic properties of product were investigated by Vibrating Sample Magnetometer ( VSM ) technique.Fe2(SO4)3.H2O was used as iron source H3BO3 and B2O3 were used as boron sources. High Temperature Solid State Synthesis method was applied with Fe:B=1:3 mole ratio. High purity iron orthoborate (Fe3BO6) was obtained from iron(III) sulfate and boric acid precursors by high temperature solid state synthesis. Fe3BO6 was orthorhombic crystal system (Norbergite type) and cell parameters were determined a=10.048.(2).Å, b=8.531.(2).Å, c=4.466.(1).Å values from ICDD data base.
