Abstract (EN)

In this study, Turkish foreign policy between 1954 and 1960 is analyzed within the framework of Forum magazine. The 1950s was a period of radical changes in world politics. In the Cold War era, transformations took place in all political elites and interest groups. In this context, the writers of Forum magazine, which are considered as a new group of intellectuals, are a group that played an important role in Turkish political history in the following years. Forumists, who were mostly academics at universities during 1954-1960 period, took their place on the stage of history as powerful political actors in the political climate after the military coup of May 27, 1960. The Forum writers, who were the new pro-Anglo-American intellectual group of this period in which Turkey's Westernization moves dating back to the Ottoman Empire were embodied, acted with their own Westernist ideology based on Kemalism. The main subject of this study is to analyze the writings of Forum writers, who were young academics at a time when the whole world was undergoing a transformation, on the changing world order.
