Effects of the probati̇on system on soci̇al adjustment process: Example of Bolu

The subject of this research is to investigate the effects of probation system on the people who committed an offence and have been under probation system for six months. The purpose of probation system is to prevent the negative impact of the imprisonment and sidelinement by the society, provide freedom and prevent the recidivizm. The purpose of the research is to investigate the social effects of the probation system in Bolu, whether the system works or not. The participants were selected from the convicts who were under probation system and take guidance. Because it was predicted that guidance would increase the conscious level of the convicts, raise their awareness, change their perception, so the societal cohesion and the level of integration would increase. For the purpose of this, people who were under probation system and took guidance for the six months were selected to participate the research. The sample were selected from Bolu probation office because the researcher has been working in Bolu probation office for three years. The qualitative and quantitative research techniques were used together for this reserach. For the qualitative research, four group study were used for data collection and for the quantitative research, surveys applied to 124 participants
