Abstract (EN)

Criminal behavior and repetition of criminal behavior include many individual, social and psychological factors, and this subject is among the fields of study of the discipline of forensic psychology. Within the scope of the current research, determining the importance of religion and religiosity for convicts as a motivating tool and its social function, and adopting a correct and effective approach will contribute to the efforts to meet the needs and expectations in this regard. In the first part of the study, which examines the relationship between crime, recidivism and religion and crime, the concepts related to freedom of control are included. In the second part of the study, the concepts of religion and crime and religiosity and crime are discussed. In the last part of the study, spiritual guidance, religious counseling and spiritual guidance in probation and religious counseling were included. When the research findings are examined, people who define themselves as religious, religion is in a structure that prevents committing crimes, there is a significant relationship between these variables when evaluated in terms of their families' religious beliefs and lifestyles. It has been concluded that it has a preventive role in re-offending.
