Abstract (EN)
The dynamism of the era requires the creation of 'flexible and dynamic' spaces that can adapt to the speed of developing information and communication technologies, and that are effective in increasing the quality of life by connecting with the dreams and desires of the individuals. At this point, temporary architecture, with its short-term existence, has the ability to temporarily change the experience of cities by producing quick and radical solutions for societies that demand instant satisfaction. Temporary performance spaces, which are an exploration of temporary architectural practices, are public playgrounds for creating meaningful experiences that have lasting effects on the form and function of our cities. By creating collective experiences based on dynamic and multi-layered events, these spaces prevent the 'loss of experience', which is the problem of the age. Temporary performance spaces have the ability to transform the areas in which they are installed, to increase the understanding and awareness of individuals about these areas and to emphasize the importance of public spaces. This research study argues that temporary performance spaces, when they disappear after their short-term existence, have the capacity to redefine the public space and change the behavior patterns and/or feelings of those in it, leaving unique memories of experiences in the minds of individuals. Based on the readings in the last chapter of the research, in the study, the effects of these spaces on experience are investigated by examining the production patterns, purposes and methods of temporary performance spaces.
