Abstract (EN)
Vessel-sourced Marine Pollution? and ?Vessel Accidents? are situations included in Coast Guard?s duties which requires ?Emergency Management?. The disasters, when accidents and pollution occur together, are events which the coordination of responding authorities is very important. These disaster situations generally may load many responsibilities to the coast guard units which reach to area of the accident. The crisis moments full of uncertainities and questions can only be handled with preparation. Because maritime transportation is an international activity, response facilities also require international cooperation and partnership. First part of this study gives information about Turkish laws and international pacts related to ?Marine Pollution? and ?Vessel Accidents?. In the second chapter, ?Sea Pollution Disasters?? caused by ?Vessel Accidents?? are examined through ?Crisis Management?. In the third chapter ?Marine Pollution?, ?Vessel Accidents? and ?Response? are examined seperately and finally in the fourth chapter, the shared responsibilities of Coast Guard in those crisis situations are told by focusing on the other countries and their Coast Guard applications.
