Abstract (EN)

Marine Surveys and Marine engineering are highly sophisticated and most automated process. There are number of techniques and instrumentations. The main rule of the geophysical engineer is to know these possibilities, the nature of the project, analyze and find the best solution using its survey background. In this Master of Sciences Study, Importance of Bathymetric and Seismic Survey in Dredging Studies was investigated. The sample of Samsun Harbor was examined. Water basins of coast of sea in the country and present condition of bathymetric maps that show surface topography of these water basins have been discussed. The surface topography changes due to the reason that vast areas in our country are subjected to the soil erosion and each year considerable amount of materials have been carried to these areas. Therefore, the importance of periodic measurements in these areas is highlighted in this study. Systems that can realize more rapid and precise measurements in these areas covered up with water have been discussed. In addition, some of applications implemented using an automated data collection system and their results are mentioned and some suggestions are also given.
