Photovoltaic panels stand out as a modern and eco-friendly technology that directly converts sunlight into electrical energy. By utilizing semiconductor materials that absorb sunlight, sustainable energy production is achieved, thereby reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Solar energy, being an inexhaustible and renewable resource, is gaining rapid importance in the energy sector. Photovoltaic panels are used in a wide range of applications, from individual homes to large-scale power plants, and contribute to reducing energy costs and carbon emissions. With advancements in technology, more efficient and economical panels are being produced, further contributing to the global energy transition. This study aims to measure the performance of bifacial PV cells and modules under sunlight using a simple and cost-effective method. The study focuses on measuring solar irradiance through light intensity. A detailed analysis of the performance of bifacial photovoltaic panels under different ground and temperature conditions in the Denizli province has been conducted. To enhance the efficient utilization of renewable energy sources, determining the performance of bifacial photovoltaic panels against ground type and environmental temperature variations is of great importance. Bifacial PV panels have the capacity to convert sunlight into electrical energy through both surfaces, offering higher efficiency compared to traditional monofacial panels. Within the scope of the research, the energy production performance of bifacial PV panels was compared under various ground types (white gravel, black gravel, soil, etc.) and temperature conditions in the Denizli province. The albedo effect (light reflected from the surface) for each ground type and the impact of environmental temperatures on panel efficiency were examined in detail. As a result of these measurements, it was determined that there was an 8.56% difference between the measurements taken with bifacial photovoltaic panels on white gravel and black gravel surfaces.
