Abstract (EN)

In this study, static push over analyses of a reinforced concrete building which damaged in October 23, 2011 Van earthquake and, collapsed in 9 November 2011 Van-Edremit earthquake, are obtained. Fibre beam-column elements are used for nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete elements. In reinforced concrete element, Mander-Priestly-Park concrete model and Menegotto-Pinto steel model are selected for non-linear behavior of concrete and steel, respectively. The modal capacity curves of the building are obtained from the static pushover analysis results. Additionally, the demand spectrum curves of for four different ground types are calculated. Spectrum acceleration graph of October 23, 2011 Van earthquake is obtained and these curves are overlaid. The material characteristics of the building and local ground type are determined by using these numerical results.
