Abstract (EN)

In this study, a device for free fall experiment has developed and implemented. A mobile Android application is developed in order to control the device via Bluetooth connection and display results of experiments in terms of measured time values of fall, squares of measured time values, partly theoretically calculated fall velocities and their squares, means of these values, theoretical fall time, comparison of theoretical fall time with measured time value, gravitational acceleration value calculated using measured fall time and related graphs. Furthermore, a method for sorting users with user ID is developed in order to make multiple students or groups work on one experiment device without interrupting each other's experiments. There are some studies on free fall experimentation. However, this study has novelty of Android control application and user sorting algorithm. Since no computer or internet infrastructure is required and multiple groups can work on one setup with their mobile devices, usage of developed experiment device may make free fall experimentation easier, more feasible and accessible. Furthermore, considering worldwide known Covid-19 pandemic, described usage scenario may provide a healthier experimentation environment due to no external physical intervention is required to use the setup and every student or group can use their own mobile device without the transmission of disease by touch.
