Factors affecting the destination qaulity perception: A research in the Southeast Anatolian Region

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to ascertain the effects of travel motivations, personalities, demographics, overnight stay at destination and number of arrival at destination on destination quality perception levels (low/high) of domestic tourists' visiting South East Anatolia Region; which is at the development stage. In line with this objective, questionnaire technique was used. 400 questionnaires, available for analysis, were attained. Descriptive analyses, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analaysis and logistic regression analysis were applied. According to results, the model is composed of "perceived destination quality" with 6 dimensions: hygiene and transportation, accomodation, price, authenticity, food and hospitality, activities; "travel motivation" with 3 dimensions: culture, entertainment and relaxation; "personality" with 5 dimensions: openness to experience, extrovertion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and neurotic. From logistic regression analysis it is concluded that education, extrovert pensonality and overnight stay at destination have impact on domestic tourists' destination quality perception levels (low/high).
