Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the effects of diatomite and fly ash (FA) additives on the strength and durability properties of self-compacting mortar (SCM) were investigated. The workability properties of SCM were evaluated using mini slump flow and viscometer tests, while mechanical and durability properties were analyzed through flexural strength, compressive strength, sulfate resistance, and freeze-thaw tests. A total of 19 different mixtures were prepared, and three samples were cast for each test. In binary mixtures, Portland cement was replaced with diatomite at rates of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. In ternary mixtures, the total mineral additive ratio was limited to not exceed 30%, and varying amounts of fly ash (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%) were added to fixed diatomite levels (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%). The hardened state properties were analyzed using 40x40x160 mm prismatic and 50x50x50 mm cubic specimens. Additionally, density, porosity, total water absorption, and capillary water absorption tests were conducted. As a result of the study, it was determined that the binary mixture containing 5% diatomite and the ternary mixture containing 5% diatomite and 5% fly ash exhibited strength and durability properties close to those of the control specimen.
