A total of 50 taxa belonging to Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Cyanophyta and Euglenophyta divisions have been identified. Diatoms (Bacillariophyta) were the most conspicuous in the benthic flora with respect to their frequency of occurence and numbers of individuals. Cymbella affinis, Diatoma vulgaris, and Fragilaria ulna were the most abundant. Diatoms showed their best growths in spring, summer and autumn.Key Words: Benthic Algae, Dicle River, Diyarbakır.
