Abstract (EN)

Today, the problem of water pollution has become an important problem recently due to the excessive and unconscious use of natural resources, industrialization and population growth. The use of water resources in a sustainable, economical and non-polluting way is extremely important for the health of the natural environment, the living ecosystem living in aquatic environments and aquaculture. The increase in the use of water resources and the need for water on our planet have made it necessary to examine these resources with scientific methods. The data used in this thesis were provided by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works. Between the years 1990-2015, when the sources of pollution on the Tigris River were important, the data on water quality were examined at six stations, starting from the Dicle Dam Lake to the town of Cizre, where Turkey left its borders. The water quality parameters were statistically classified, the probability percentage values were calculated in the classification, the results obtained regarding the water quality at the observed stations were compared with the Water Pollution Control Regulation, TS 266, the relevant regulations of the European Union and the World Health Organization, and water quality classes were determined. The water quality values of six stations are given in tables in terms of classification. In addition, the graphs obtained from the changes in the pollution parameters measured at the stations depending on the number of measurements are presented. In terms of water quality parameters in the Dicle Dam Lake and Dicle dam outlet stations in the direction of the Tigris river flow, it is generally Class I and II. It was found to be in the class category. Nitrogen and phosphorus values were found to be above the recommended values and the standards determined for water quality classes as a result of the uncontrolled mixing of pollution sources into the waters at other stations, especially at the Bismil, Sadi and On Gözlü bridge stations. When some important values were examined, it was seen that pH was between 9.3 and 6.8, Cl was between 48.5 mg/l and 0.06 mg/l, EC was between 806 μmhos/cm and 0 μmhos/cm, Col was between 150 Pt-Co and 0 Pt-Co. As a result of the statistical classification, the water in the stations is class I in terms of Cl, NO3-N and TDS, and class II in terms of DO, EC, pH and Col. Class III in terms of NO2-N. IV in terms of class and Fe. It has been determined that it has class water quality. As a result of the findings obtained at the end of the study, necessary evaluations were made and appropriate solution suggestions were expressed.
