Abstract (EN)
Clinical and Prognostic Significance of Ki-67 Expression in Diffuse Large Cell LymphomaOur aim was to determinate immunohistochemically Ki-67 score in Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphomas, whether, by comparing the results with the IPI score, to determine the clinical and prognostic features. At the end of study results to be obtained with different orientations can be achieved with standard therapy and thus increased survival rate in these patients may be possible. In our study 52 patients with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma were enrolled. IPI scores were calculated with information obtained from patient files. Ki-67 expression was determined in paraffin blocks of tissue samples contained in archives of Cukurova University Department of Pathology. With the information obtained, the relationship between patients' prognosis were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 statistical software. The IPI scores of patients with DLBCL compared with treatment response could not find a statistically significant difference (p: 0125), but statistically significant difference was found when compared with patients? status, respectively (p.0.032). While a statistically significant difference (p = 0.027) found for the values of Ki-67 percent compared with treatment response, compared with patients' status no statistically significant difference found (p: 0753).According to our study results in patients with DLBCL relationship between the response assessment and IPI scores can not be seen, but it may have been related to patients' status. The relationship was found between Ki-67 expression and prognosis, when compared with patients' status not seen any relationship. In accordance with the results obtained with a larger and a homogeneous population and with sufficient information on file as a result of the study execution, behavior of DLBCL as an indicator for the proposed criteria can be identified and new ways of treatment may be determined.
