Abstract (EN)
Sustainability in Woven Fabric Design Process in Digital Environment has been chosen as the subject of this thesis. The study examines the use of digital design and simulation technologies to respond to the increasing environmental, economic and social sustainability requirements in the textile industry. Within the scope of the research; EAT Design Scope Victor software was selected as the main tool used in digital weaving design and the design processes made through this software were examined in detail. In the study, especially the role of simulation technologies in the preparation of fabric variants and the contributions of the visual presentations obtained through the 3DMapp program to the design process were evaluated. This process has shown that material and energy savings are possible by enabling designs to be evaluated and improved before physical production. Simulation technologies offer designers a wide range of creativity by enabling the creation of an infinite number of variants. With this method, design processes are carried out without the need for physical prototype production, thus minimizing environmental impacts. In this context, the study reveals that digital technologies support not only environmental sustainability but also economic efficiency. As a result, this study shows how the textile industry can become more environmentally friendly and efficient in the process of digitalization by revealing the impact of digital weaving design on sustainable production models.
