Abstract (EN)
In this study, the hermeneutic understanding of the French philosopher Paul Ricoeur was discussed. The main aim in Ricoeur's philosophy is to save and integrate human discourse from fragmentation. According to Ricoeur, this integration cannot be accomplished without hermeneutics. Therefore, Ricoeur's hermeneutic understanding has been considered with his goal of uniting human discourse. In this context, information about the history of hermeneutics is given in the first section. The development of hermeneutics from antiquity to the present has been mentioned and the discussions and philosophical results they have created have been mentioned. In the second part, information is given about the theological and philosophical developments in hermeneutics. In the last part, by discussing Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic understanding, his own theory and its relationship with his other thoughts are examined. In the conclusion part, a general interpretation and evaluation of the results obtained in the study was made. Key words: Paul Ricoeur, Hermeneutics, İnterpretetion, Philosophy of Religion
