Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, humanity has investigated the hidden and the unseen beyond appearances. As a result of these investigations, a wide range of topics such as astrology, fortune-telling, prophecy, spiritual evil entities, and magic have emerged as part of esoteric teachings. Humans delved into these subjects and blended them with religion, and performed secret rituals associated with certain occult groups. These practices, not open to the public, gradually spread through intercultural interactions over time. Although religious authorities may have disapproved, they could not prevent the dissemination of esoteric teachings within society. In our study, we first explain the key concepts related to esoteric teachings and focus on the traces of esoteric doctrines found in the Semitic religions (Judaism and Christianity) and their respective societies. Subsequently, we examine signs of esotericism in Indian religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. In the final section, topics such as astrology, fortune-telling, prophecy, magic, and malevolent invisible beings are discussed, with specific attention paid to their subtopics.
