EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH OF THE EFFECT OF THE VARIABLEGEOMETRICAL TURBOCHARGER IN THE DIESEL ENGİNES TO THEENGİNE CHARECTERİSTİCS(M.Sc. Thesis)Remzi Fatih ALANGAZİ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTVariable geometry turbines (VGT) are being increasingly used inadvanced diesel powertrains intended for current production and futuretrucks, since they can dramatically improve system transient responseto sudden changes in speed and load. This is due to the fact that VGTsystems have the potential to provide accurate control of the pressuredifference across the engine, in addition to a very quick responseduring engine transients.In this study, diesel engines performances has been aimed to examinecomparatively which the engines equipped VGT and tradationalturbocharger.
