Abstract (EN)
Nature has always attracted people's attention and has been a source of knowledge and inspiration for people. However, as time passes, human activities have weakened the relationship between nature and human, negatively affecting existing vegetation and living spaces of living beings, and damaging ecological balance. Environmental problems have emerged as a result of the deterioration of the ecological balance. To solve environmental problems, human activities must not harm nature and must be in harmony with nature. The opinion should change that people can use nature as they wish. Instead of that, an opinion should be adopted which supports the mutual benefit of the human- nature relationship and the progress by supporting one other. The thesis focuses on one of the nature-based design approaches, regenerative design. Regenerative design is based on the fact that people are part of environmental systems and that any changes in environmental systems will affect them. The regenerative design approach supports the improvement, development, and protection of ecosystems. Regenerative design, which aims to have a positive impact on the environment and to protect the relationship between nature and people, has an important potential for the production of a healthy built environment for quality living.
