The removel of lead ions(Pb+2) from waste water using natural adsorbents

Heavy metals are the most harmful environmental pollutants, due to widespread use. Even if particularly Pb2+ is found in the low portion in the environment, it has negative effects on the living organisms and if it is above of a certain dergree, it shows a toxic effect. This, of course, will create adverse effects on living features. Therefore, before being released of waste to the environment, the removal of the metal ions from environment is significant. One widely used method today for the removal of heavy metals from water in the use of natural waste is adsorbent in studies of heavy metals. According to the last studies, the usage of natural waste absorbent is seen more convenient in terms of providing contribution to environment and low cost. In this study, in order to clear Pb from aqueous solution vine leaf and kernel of apricot is used as natural adsorbent. In the first process of the studies of optimisation for the natural adsorbent which is prepared and the capacity of metal adsorbation, the optimum contact time is determined. For this reason, natural adsorbents and the solutions which contain Pb2+ ion is treated in different times and the optimum time is determened as for vine leaf; 120 minutes, for kernel of apricot 15 minutes. Then the effects of the concentration of Pb ion pH and heat over the capacity of metal adsorbtion of natural adsorbent are researched.In addition, the analysis results which is obtained in the adsorbtion studies are researched in terms of the convenience to the isotherm of Langmuir and Freundlich.
