Abstract (EN)

Underground natural gas storage facilities have critical importance in our country's energy supply security. In this context, the facility that carry out underground storage activities mostly uses depleted natural reservoirs. In this study, the applicability of the cogeneration system in order to generate electricity from the flue gas at the average temperature of 500 0C and the flow rate of 144,4t / h and recover the waste heat we lost in 3 Gas Turbines located in North Marmara Storage Facilities was investigated. In the designed system, 3 HRSG and 1 steam turbine are considered and 16.23 MW of energy is obtained from each HRSG. A total of 48,70 MW of energy obtained from 3 HRSGs enters the steam turbine operating at 24% efficiency, resulting in 12.20 MW of mechanical energy and 11.84 MW of electrical energy. Thus, 97,05MW of energy entering the combined cycle power plant was converted into a total of 42.25MW of useful energy, of which 30,41ME Mechanical and 11,84 MWe of electricity, and the efficiency of the system was calculated as 43.5%. The electrical energy that produced from the Combined Power Plant / Cogeneration plant will contribute to the required electricity supply of Underground gas storage facility and energy supply of the public in return for its price.
