Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to determine the possible subsurface discontinuities, which occurs by the effect of tectonism using electromagnetic-VLF and self-potential (SP) methods, around Urla-İçmeler and Demircili regions, which is an active region in terms of tectonics. In this context, large-scale investigations have been done in the region. These investigations were performed on the same lines used in other geophysical measuring. Real and imaginary components, tilt and resistivity values of EM-VLF are measured by using three different frequencies. The data which are obtained from EM-VLF are evaluated by the inversion method, and resistivity sections of the subsurface are obtained. Some discontinuities related to the fault zones are observed upon these processed data. Two kinds of measures are taken in self potential method as total field and gradient. After the inversion of total field data, parameters were found for the sphere model. These parameters include the depth, the polarization angle and the focal location of the model. As a result, the indications with near-vertical polarization angle belonging to possible fault zones are occurred in İçmeler region. In this research, the inversion of EM-VLF and SP methods revealed that it could be successfully determined the fault zones as subsurface discontinuities at actively tectonic areas.
