Abstract (EN)
As the petroleum reserves have been decreasing at all, the facts that, in the future, most of the countries are going to suffer inevitably from the lack of petroleum reserves and the petroleum?s bad effects on the nature and environment in emission point of view, they are going to look for some new ways into the alternative fuels. Natural gas has been introduced to the whole world after an energy crisis which exploded on the 1970?s, and only then it has started to become an important alternative fuel resource. Since it is abundant in the nature in terms of reserves and supply, remained as a reasonable alternative fuel when compared to the other fossil fuels and always became a preferable one by large of the majorities since it always possessed the advantage of being the most cleanest and the most efficient combustible. Its usage as an alternative fuel for vehicles has started gradually by being a part of this process. Some general information about natural gas like the reserves and its storage methods, entire alternative fuel types, all the processes from well to the engine, its application on different type of engines, the initial investment, operation, service/maintenance costs of the stations for each natural gas forms, which are needed to establish in order to present the natural gas to the use of the individuals, have been emphasized and CNG is underlined as being the most advantageous one among them. Keywords: Compressed natural gas, liqufied natural gas, CNG, LNG, LCNG.
