Psychoanalysis examination of relagious violence towards women in American horror films in ninties and afterwards

Horror movies which are affected from the crisis of the country in positive a way and experienced its Golden Age in these period, are the one of genres which is represented the best of patriarchal ideology. Horror movies which determine the women as ?other? and live the golden age especially with the women movements in seventies, have repressed of the women sexuality, domesticated and punished of women by using the religion which is one of the most important points of the patriarchal society. The horror movies with the feminist movements increase both the amount of films and amount of the violence towards women. Also, this violence is getting legal by using religious beliefs.In our study, how the sexuality of women which is tried to repress with a religious ways and how women are punished were examined by evaluating the position of the women. Three films (Stigmata, Constantine, Exorcist: The Beginning) which are used women which is determined as a sinful by the patriarchal religion and punished in a way of religious violence as main theme were analyzed because of their religious points in their narrative structures.
