Abstract (EN)
Fluidization in some industrial processes such as combustion, drying, gasification, separation, fuel up-grading etc. is an important phenomenon which has to be investigates from the economical, operational and environmental control points of wiew. Especially, the application of circulating type fluidized bed combustion systems for the efficient and clean combustion of low grade fuels is a very interesting research area for the time being. In the heat-power laboratories of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, of Gazi Universitey, a research oriented cold circulating type fluidized bey system, which corresponds to the existing 50 kW, hot system in the same laboratories, is designed and constructed for the experimental investigation of the hydrodynamic behaviour of the circulating bed for different bed materials and operational conditions. In this work, using the designed and constructed system, on experimental and theoretical analysis of the fluidization characteristics of circulating bed has been made. In addition, the transport properties of solid particles in the fluidzed bed has been investigated. The experimental and the theoretical results have been compared and discussed.
