Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACTIn this study, the objective was to integrate plant activators as systemicacquired resistance (SAR) inducing compounds with available chemical controlmeasures, consequently to get comparable efficacy with less chemical. Some of thebiological elicitors applicated to tomato seedlings by spraying and variations in theactivity of specific peroxidase [EC 1.11.1.7] enzymes and total protein amount thatlikely represent the enhancement of host resistance were analyzed from the leaves oftomato seedlings after individual and combined applications.Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) (Standart T2 Improved, ComercialTomato) seedlings were grown as every sequence 25 tomato plants with 5 replicates inopen field (in vivo) conditions and 10 different combinations were realized. The effectof plant activator and combine effect with Trichodex which is a biocontrolling agentwere applied. After first treatment other treatments were applied one in a two weeks on tomatoseedlings. After all these treatments tomato leaves were harvested and crude extractswere homogenized for laboratory analyses. After centrifugation, the supernatants werecollected and their protein concentrations were determined by the method of Bradford(1976) using BSA as a standard. Amount of total protein was measuredspectrophotometrically at 595nm.Peroxidase enzyme activity was assayed spectrophotometrically in the crude leafextracts. The activity was measured at 300nm according to Kanner and Kinsella (1983).Comperative absorbance datas were collected and results were given as mg/ ml/ minenzyme unit.Plant Activator, SAR (Systemic Acquired Resistance),Key Words :Lycopersicon esculentum Mill., Peroxidase, Total Protein.II
