Abstract (EN)
As a result of the developments in the field of power electronics, semiconductor devices are switched at increased power and frequency levels. This, in turn, causes increased electromagnetic emission to the environment. Since this pollution has negative impact on the operation of sensitive equipment around, several international standards have been established for the operation of electronic devices. Therefore, circuit designers work to develop techniques to create less pollution at hand hand, they also try to come up with means to prevent the emission of the noise to the environment. This thesis gives detailed information about these techniques. Sources of electromagnetic noise in a dc-dc converter are discussed. The effect of circuit parasitics on the emission is demonstrated through simulations. Also, the precautions that should be taken into account while designing printed circuit boards are listed and the results of not paying attention to these are shown by tests performed on two different boards.
