Abstract (EN)
This research, which aims to create detailed information about the use of modular ceramic units used as surface coatings and their usage areas, consists of four parts. In the first chapter, the definitions of the concepts of module and space, general characteristics of modular design and especially the modularity in ceramic art are included. In the second part, modular ceramic surface coatings and production techniques are explained with examples from the past to the present. In the continuation of this section, the properties of the units that are used as surface coatings in interior and exterior spaces are detailed by using examples in architectural structures and by giving examples of these structures. In the last chapter, as a result of the research, the modular unit creation process is interpreted from the past to the present, and the individual module designs and applications are given.
