Abstract (EN)

In this survey, the relationship between the emotional eating habits and the ability of solving problems have been analyzed. The sample of the study consists of 216 female, 213 male, totally 429 students' who continue their education in Hasan Kalyoncu University in 2018-2019 academic year. Turkish Emotional Eating Scale, Problem Solving Skills Inventory and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale were used in the study. Data were transferred to SPSS 25 package program and analyzed. According to data bases a significant positive correlation was found between the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale total score and the Emotional Eating Scale score. As the scores of depression anxiety increased, the score of emotional eating behavior has also increased. Significant relationships were found between the total score of Problem Solving Inventory and emotional eating behavior scores. Depression which is the subdimension of depression anxiety stress scale, predicts the anxiety and the emotional eating behavior. There was a positive correlation between the total score of the Problem Solving Inventory and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale score. The higher the Inventory of Problem Solving Skills score, the higher the depression, anxiety, and stress scores. Findings obtained as a result of the research are discussed in the light of the literature.
